Practice decoding unknown words with Alien Word Cards from Rainbow Phonics. Each of the 148 cards contains a made-up word that you can use for learning or assessment of newly developing decoding skills. Each card is double-sided. Both sides have an alien image and the alien word (or nonsense word), while one-sided has color-coded sound buttons to support breaking the alien word up into its units of sounds. The outside borders are color-coded in accordance with the phases of Rainbow Phonics. Cards also integrate with the daily lessons taught explicitly from the Teacher Planners at the different grade levels.
